The Comfort Zone: Josh Gad Reunites The Ghostbusters Cast

Continuing his YouTube series of gathering the casts and creators of classic movies under the banner of Reunited Apart, Josh Gad has turned his attention to Ghostbusters. Which meant that the likes of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts and director Ivan Reitman hit Zoom to talk about favourite scenes and the making of the film.

In keeping with other Reunited Apart episodes, Gad also had a selection of those who played smaller roles in the movie, including William Atherton (Walter Peck), and even Michael Ensign, who was the stuffy manager of the Sedgewick Hotel, where the team first tackles Slimer. Along for the call? Ghostbusters super-fan Kumail Nanjiani, who helped quiz the stars on some of their memorable lines from the film. Well, we say memorable, but the people who said them don't completely seem to recall them. And then came Ray Parker Jr., who wrote and performed the iconic theme song. And before any of them, Gad chatted with Jason Reitman, Ivan's son and a long-established director in his own right, who is busy editing follow-up film Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which is scheduled to arrive in March next year.

There was talk of the late Harold Ramis, who co-wrote the movie and played Egon, and the time crunch deadline to get the movie made in the 13 months between first pitch and release date. It's fun stuff.
