Colin Farrell has seen some controversy in his time, but he's a lightweight compared to Mel Gibson's issues outside of movies. Still, Tommy Wirkola is directing them both in a new action movie called War Pigs.
Nick Ball and John Niven wrote the script, once known as The Takedown. Pigs' story finds a group of disillusioned former Marines heading out on one last mission – that of vengeance against the cartel that murdered one of their own. All while looking to make off with millions in drug money.
According to Deadline, Gibson will play a character called The Pastor, while Farrell will be Drex. Wirkola should have the cameras rolling in October with Millennium Films providing the backing.
Gibson is fitting the film into his schedule before returning to directing for World War II pic Destroyer. Farrell will be seen in Widows (out 9 November) and Tim Burton's live-action Dumbo, landing on 29 March next year.
