Though she’s now appearing in huge Hollywood productions like Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows and Prometheus, Noomi Rapace clearly hasn’t forgotten one of the people who helped shove her into the spotlight – original** Girl With The Dragon Tattoo** director Niels Arden Oplev. She’s signed on to star in mob drama Dead Man Down alongside Colin Farrell, which Oplev is on to shoot next year.
Farrell will play a mobster’s hitman who ends up falling for a disfigured former beauty queen (Rapace). Together, the pair launches a violent spree in revenge against Farrell’s gangster employers.
JH Wyman, who usually spends his days overseeing scripts on US TV drama Fringe, is behind the screenplay. It’ll be his first produced film since 2001’s The Mexican.
Oplev has looked to follow Rapace into US movie work, but while he’s been attached to at least two projects (Game Theory and The Keep), nothing has yet reached the shooting stage. Looks like Dead Man Down will finally the one to get moving…
