It was another quiet weekend at the US box office, and yet again, most of the top 10 stayed in place. Which meant that Pixar's Coco spent a third weekend at the top, adding $18.3 million, according to studio estimates.
The latest animated offering from the company has now earned more than $135.5 million in the US and has begun to pick up a few awards. Justice League remained in second place with $9.5 million, while Wonder earned $8.4 million.
You have to head to fourth to find a new entry into the top 10, as James Franco's The Disaster Artist surged from 12th place thanks to an expanded screen count. The story of how infamously so-bad-it's-fun drama The Room came to be has made $8 million to date, primarily thanks to earning $6.4 million this weekend. Rounding out the top five was Thor: Ragnarok on $6.2 million.
Daddy's Home 2 slipped to sixth with $6 million, ahead of seventh-place Murder On The Orient Express, which took in $5.1 million. The Star fell to eighth, earning $3.6 million. Lady Bird took home $3.5 million, while stumbling into the top 10 with a soggy last-place launch was new Morgan Freeman/Tommy Lee Jones action comedy Just Getting Started, making $3.1 million. Not exactly the best way to get started...
With a certain film about Stars, Wars and the Jedi on the way, expect things to look very different next weekend.
