With Daisy Ridley and Naomi Watts already aboard in the leads, Hamlet riff Ophelia is boosting its cast. Clive Owen, Tom Felton, George MacKay and Devon Terrell are all now part of the ensemble.
Semi Chellas adapted Lisa Klein's novel, and Claire McCarthy is in the director's chair for a story set in the 14th century but scripted using contemporary dialogue instead of Shakespeare's usual pentameter.
With the new casting information comes a proper briefing on who is playing what in the movie, with Ridley unsurprisingly set as the title character, the most trusted lady-in-waiting to the Queen (Watts). She captures the attention of Prince Hamlet (Mackay) and a forbidden love blooms, only for tragedy to strike.
Owen is on as Claudius, with Felton as Laertes and Terrell as Horatio. McCarthy is looking to start shooting this month in Prague.
