With the Cannes Film Festival in full swing, there are naturally a lot movies still in the early stages touting their wares at the festival's film market. Among them is a action thriller Three Seconds, which has a cast that includes Clive Owen, Rosamund Pike, Common and Joel Kinnaman.
Andrea Di Stefano is in the director's chair, having re-written a script that has previously seen work from the likes of Alex Garland, Matt Cook and Rowan Joffe. Three Seconds introduces us to reformed criminal and ex-special forces soldier Pete Hoffman. As part of a deal to free him from prison, he's agreed to work undercover for his FBI handlers to infiltrate the Polish mob and its drug trade in New York. But when a drug deal goes bad and threatens to reveal his identity as a mole, he has to return to Bale Hill Prison for a race against time to save his own life and his family.
"In Escobar: Paradise Lost, Andrea Di Stefano delivered a taut, suspenseful film," says Alex Walton, whose company Bloom is representing the film at the festival. "Andrea has collaborated with our elite production group to heighten Three Seconds into a fresh, modern, New York-set thriller that can appeal to audiences worldwide."
