It's a film we haven't heard too much about until now, but there's an interesting clip of The Accidental Husband online, with Uma Thurman and Colin Firth stressing about the sort of fix only those in com-roms get into. Watch the whole thing here.
So the plot concerns a talk-show relationship expert, Emma (Thurman), who's sure she's met the perfect guy in publisher Richard (Firth) - only a fireman called Patrick (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who you may remember as the best thing in PS I Love You) is trying to mess with Emma's perfect life, by, er, marrying her. Seems that Emma gave Patrick's fiancee advice that led to her breaking the poor fella's heart, so now he's out for revenge. Only, we're guessing he falls in love with her after all.
Aside from the fact that Thurman appears to be donning some sort of weird British accent, and that scenes from farcical comedy don't always work terribly well without the build-up, this looks rather amusing. It's out here at the end of February, so look out for a review in a future issue of Empire.
