Following his awe-inspiring work on Moon, Clint Mansell will team up again with Duncan Jones to score **Source Code, according to an announcement from Jones via his Twitter account.
The former Pop Will Eat Itself head honcho has carved a seriously successful new soundtracking niche for himself, post 1990s indie stardom, bagging himself numerous award nominations and wins. He's worked on every Darren Aronofsky film, from Pi to The Black Swan (he was nominated for a Golden Globe for The Fountain), and it looks like he's found another long-term collaborator and fan in Jones.
The director called Mansell's Source Code involvement "bloody fantastic news... you have no idea how relieved I am."
Source Code is a Groundhog Day-ish near future sci-fi, about a soldier mysteriously (and repeatedly) waking up in somebody else's body on a commuter train, with a bomb about to go off. Jake Gyllenhaal, Jeffrey Wright, Vera Farmiga and Michelle Monaghan are all aboard, and the US release date is April 15 next year. "Same day as Water for Elephants and Scream 4", says Jones. "Which is nice..."
