We brought word back in July that Daniel Radcliffe had snapped up the lead role in **The Woman in Black (but not as the woman), and now he’s getting some top-notch UK acting talent as a support system, with Ciaran Hinds and Janet McTeer signing up.
Radcliffe is playing Arthur Kipps, a young lawyer who travels to the remote house of one of his clients to sort out the deceased’s last few affairs. But as he works alone in the creaky, creepy place, he begins to realise that all is not what it seems – and that he might not be the only one in the place. And then there’s the small matter of the entire village being held hostage by the vengeful spirit of a wronged woman.
Hinds, who has just worked with Radcliffe on the final **Harry Potter **outing, has agreed to play the local landowner Mr Daily, who helps Kipps investigate the house. McTeer, meanwhile, will be Hinds’ wife.
Jane "Kick-Ass"Goldman adapted the script from Susan Hill’s acclaimed novel, and Eden Lake director James Watkins will start calling the shots before the end of the month (more on what they're planning here). And Hammer Films, which is co-producing the film, has decided not to make it 3D after all. On behalf of this only-one-working-eye writer, thanks!
