As Disney continues to adapt stories it has previously used for animation for live-action tales, it's the turn of everyone's favourite honey-loving bear, Winnie The Pooh. Though, specifically, as the title suggests, the focus here is on his best human pal, Christopher Robin. Check out the new trailer for the film.
With heavy echoes of Hook, Marc Forster's film finds Ewan McGregor as Christopher, all grown up and a world away from his adventures in Hundred Acre Wood. Now, he's struggling to juggle that all-important work/life balance, trying to please his boss while also spending time with his family, including wife Evelyn (Hayley Atwell) and daughter Madeline (Bronte Carmichael).
When he's forced to miss a family trip, he gets a visit from Pooh (brought to life via CG, with veteran voice-over artist Jim Cummings handling the speaking role), who aims to remind him how to enjoy life again. Soon, Christopher is visiting all of the old gang, including Eeyore (Brad Garrett), Piglet (Nick Mohammed), Rabbit (Peter Capaldi), Owl (Toby Jones) and Tigger (Cummings again). Will the furry friends be able to sort out his problems? Or will they just cause more? That's for the film itself to answer.
Christoper Robin will be in UK cinemas on 17 August. We had Forster talk about the movie when the previous trailer launched, and you can read that feature here.
