Christopher Nolan's Tenet has been shoved further and further back on the release scheduled because of the Covid pandemic and cinemas closing down. Just last week, it was announced as delayed "indefinitely" with the proviso that an announcement would come. Warner Bros. has now revealed that the film will roll out internationally at first.

Essentially decided based on how various countries have handled the Covid situation and where cinemas are more prepared to open, Nolan's latest will open in the UK and more than 60 other countries on Wednesday 26 August, with Canada following on 27 August.

As fo the US, which has frankly done a terrible job managing the pandemic situation? The film will finally arrive there on 2 September, but only in places where Warners decides that it's safe to open. Certain other countries, including China and Brazil, are still awaiting dates.

The new film's plot remains shrouded in mystery, though we do know it finds John David Washington as an agent who is charged with infiltrating a mysterious, world-threatening conspiracy that involves some sort of time twisting element.

All that's left to do now is to wait and see if this latest date sticks, how many people are willing to go back to cinemas and how long the film will stick around on screens in order to earn as much as it can.
