Great Scott! With every new bit of Nobody 2 news, things just keep looking better and better for Universal and 87North's upcoming action thriller. Just last week, we shared the exciting announcement that Basic Instinct star Sharon Stone is set to play the lead villain in Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto's (The Night Comes For Us) eagerly anticipated sequel. And before that, we got confirmation that Bob Odenkirk is getting ready to rock and roll once again as assassin-turned-family-man-turned-assassin-again Hutch Mansell in the geriaction flick follow-up. Now, per Deadline's reporting, we know that Back To The Future legend Christopher Lloyd will be back as Hutch's shotgun-toting, retired FBI agent father David Mansell in the latest Nobody joint.
Hot on the heels of scoring an Emmy nomination for his role as Larry Arbuckle in Prime Video dramedy Hacks, Lloyd isn't the only Mansell family member confirmed to be returning in Deadline's report either. Connie Nielsen, who we'll next see reprising her role as Lucilla in Gladiator II, will be back as Hutch's wife Becca in Tjahjanto's follow-up to Ilya Naishuller's 2021 movie too. Whether or not we'll also be seeing RZA back in action as Hutch's brother Harry remains to be seen, although with the way the first movie ended, we wouldn't be surprised to see another Hutch x Harry collab as our man Mansell takes on Stone's big bad.
As far as the plot for Nobody 2 goes, we're still none the wiser as to what's in store for us at this stage — although, if the first film's anything to go by, we reckon there may be a tasty action set piece or two (and possibly some public transport related punch-ups.) We do however know that Odenkirk himself has been working on the script alongside Derek Kolstad (John Wick), Aaron Rabin (Secret Invasion), and Umair Aleem, with The Fall Guy dynamic duo Kelly McCormick and David Leitch again aboard to produce. We'll find out what the team have been cooking up when Nobody 2 hits cinemas on 15 August, 2025. Also, new title suggestion — Nobody 2: Hutch Uncaged anyone? Anyone? Fine... back to the drawing board.
