After making a few TV movies and then switching to cinema with the likes of Brighton Rock and Before I Go To Sleep, Rowan Joffe is back on smaller screens for new Sky Atlantic series Tin Star. And he has Christina Hendricks (no stranger to telly herself) and Tim Roth in talks to star.

Set in a remote mountain town filled with migrant oil workers, Tin Star finds a police chief (Roth) who has to confront a rising tide of crime. He suffers a dreadful attack, and the fallout leads him on to a self-destructive path, ending with the creation of a ruthless alter ego.

With Joffe acting as showrunner, the series will kick off filming in the next few weeks. Roth is on screens now in POV thriller Hardcore Henry, and has worked on Mr. Right, The Brits Are Coming and Life At These Speeds. Hendricks will be seen in school clash comedy Fist Fight and is at work on Bad Santa 2. She's also recently re-united with her Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn for The Neon Demon.
