Christensen And Walker Are Bone Deep

Two of the greatest and most under-appreciated actors of their generation are teaming up on screen for the first time. Forget De Niro and Pacino. Forget Newman and Redford. Forget even, if you can, Sandler and Schneider. This is the big one:

Hayden Christensen and Paul Walker – together at last!

Yes, the blond bombshells and neo-Keanus are teaming up to star in the John Luessenhop-directed thriller, Bone Deep, in which a group of criminals find a hard-boiled detective meddling with their plans to pull off a $20 million heist.

Walker will play the leader of the gang, while Christensen will play a greenhorn cop, the partner of Matt Dillon, who had already been cast as the nosy cop.

The rest of the cast includes Chris Brown, T.I. and our very own Idris Elba.

But it’s the casting of Walker and Christensen that may raise eyebrows, with many critics calling the duo’s acting ability into question. We could be snarky and sarcastic and join in by dubbing them ‘neo-Keanus’, but we’re going to rise above… what do you mean, we’ve already done it? Damn.

But we’re just busting their balls. Walker was actually pretty good in fare like Running Scared and Roadkill, and seems to do pretty well when he’s not just being a pretty boy with rock-hard abs. Christensen, of course, is still struggling to escape the Star Wars type-casting tag, but he showed promise in Shattered Glass, so let’s hope that is consolidated here.
