Lionsgate really does seem intent on building a Valentine’s Day-style ensemble for pregnancy-focused multi-strand drama What to Expect When You’re Expecting, with Chris Rock, Anna Kendrick and Brooklyn Decker all joining the cast.
The film, based on the non-fiction advice tome, will follow various couples, singles and other people dealing with pregnancy. Rock is on to play Vic, who leads a group of expectant fathers and lectures them on what they should really be ready for when the sprog pops out.
Scott Pilgrim’s Kendrick, meanwhile, will be Rosie, who suddenly finds herself returning to an attractive old flame when their food trucks compete in a culinary rivalry.
And model-turned-actress Decker, who made her film debut with this year’s Adam Sandler comedy Just Go With It and who'll be starring in Battleship next year, will be the annoyingly cheerful wife of an older bloke who causes envy among her friends when she appears to sail through pregnancy with twins with few issues.
Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez are already aboard, and **Everybody’s Fine **director Kirk Jones is gearing up to shoot this summer.
