Back in May, Netflix went shopping at the Cannes Film Market and came home with new drama Pain Hustlers, which has Emily Blunt starring and Harry Potter veteran David Yates directing. The streaming service is now adding Chris Evans to the cast.

Written by Wells Tower, the story here focuses on Liza Drake (Blunt), a high-school dropout dreaming of a better life for her and her young daughter, who lands a job with a failing pharmaceutical start-up in a yellowing strip mall in Central Florida. Liza’s charm, guts and drive catapult the company and her into the high life, where she soon finds herself at the center of a criminal conspiracy with deadly consequences... Filming should kick off in August.

How Evans will fit into the story — troubled other half? Smooth criminal type? – remains to be seen. It's just his latest Netflix project, as he's one of the stars of The Gray Man, which is in cinemas on 15 July and on Netflix from 22 July, but you can attend an exclusive screening on 19 July if you're part of Empire's VIP Club...
