It must be a good day to be a former Potter star. With Tom Felton apparently set for thriller **A****ttachment, there’s also news that Rupert Grint is joining Chloe Moretz in the cast of Dennis Wilson biopic The Drummer.
Aaron Eckhart is already signed to play Beach Boys skins-striker Wilson in the last six years of his life before he died in 1983. Vera Farmiga jumped aboard in January as Christine McVie, the singer-songwriter of Fleetwood Mac. The pair enjoyed a passionate, tumultuous relationship, which reportedly inspired her to co-write the Mac song Hold Me in 1982.
Moretz will be playing Wilson’s daughter Jennifer, and she won’t have to look too far for any research, as the lady in question is co-producing the film with half-brother Carl. On the other hand, we don’t fancy the pressure of playing a real-life person when there’s every chance they’ll be sitting watching you on set…
Grint’s taking the role of Stan Shapiro, a young mailroom intern at the William Morris management company who became a close friend to the drummer during that final spell of his life.
**Bottle Shock **director Randall Miller co-wrote the script with Jody Savin and plans to start shooting in June.
