Having made her directorial debut back in 2009 with Serious Moonlight, Cheryl Hines is ready to call the shots again, signing a deal to direct a new comedy called Revenge Wedding.
The film, which has a script from David White, Tamara Chestna, Keith Merryman and David A. Newman, follows what happens when a woman discovers that her wealthy fiancé is cheating on her shortly before their lavishly planned wedding. As the title suggests, she ropes in her best friend and rounds up a band of miscreants to turn the big day into a chaotic series of events for her duplicitous beau. "Everyone who has ever been devastated by betrayal will revel in the heart and redemption in this funny adventure," said Hines in a statement carried by The Wrap.
CBS Films is backing the new comedy, but there's no indication yet of when the cameras will roll.
