After spending time in Dark Places, travelling the dusty lanes of Mad Max: Fury Road and dodging bullets in A Million Ways To Die In The West, Charlize Theron could be forgiven for wanting to take a holiday. Instead, it appears she may be spending some of her summer time working on T****he Last Space with Sean Penn.

Space, which is still slowly coming together, reportedly concerns refugee camps in Sudan. What little we do know about the project comes from Blue Is The Warmest Colour’s Adele Exarchopoulos, who has said she’s scored a small role in the film.

This would mark Penn’s return to directing for the first time since** Into The Wild**, and feels like something he’d want to focus on given his work raising awareness for human rights issues around the world.

Acting-wise, he was last seen in The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty and will next crop up in The Gunman. He’s also developing several other directing gigs, including Crazy For The Storm and The Comedian.

As for Theron,** A Million Ways To Die In The Wes**t is out on May 30, with Dark Places awaiting a date in the UK but headed for US cinemas on September 1. Mad Max: Fury Road is still a while away, and isn’t set to hit until May 15 next year.
