Once upon a time, a long time ag... Actually, just a couple of years ago, casting began on a film called The Coldest City. The movie, starring Charlize Theron, is headed our way this year but has since changed its name to Atomic Blonde, as revealed by the first teaser poster lurking below.
Adapted from Antony Johnston and Sam Hart's graphic novel by writer Kurt Johnstad, Theron is playing Agent Lorraine Broughton, a skilled intelligence operative called into action when an undercover MI6 spy is killed just before the fall of the Berlin Wall. She’ll have to track down a list he was smuggling to the West in order to prevent her and her colleagues becoming endangered by the release of crucial information. And the mission becomes a deadly game of double-crossing agents and global agendas.
James McAvoy, Sofia Boutella, John Goodman and Toby Jones are also in the cast, and John Wick director David Leitch called the shots, so you know the action should be top notch for this one. Atomic Blonde is out on 11 August.
