Fast & Furiosa? Charlize Theron made for a badass heroine in Mad Max: Fury Road, but the team behind the Fast & Furious franchise are thinking she could be just as entertaining as the big bad. According to Deadline, she's in early talks to join Fast 8.
Surprisingly, this has not popped up on Vin Diesel's social media outlets yet (give the man time), and it sounds as though it's still at a very embryonic stage. Universal is apparently eager to make this work, but it'll depend on her schedule and any deal.
Still... just imagine the fun that could be had with an evil, scheming Charlize going up against Dom and the gang? We're already drawing the posters in our heads. And with some crayons we found lying around.
Not much is official about the new Fast yet, beyond F. Gary Gray (who worked with Theron on 2003's The Italian Job) directing, Diesel starring and producing and the likes of Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson and Jason Statham (probably) reporting back for duty. Talking of, could Charlize's potential character be another member of the Shaw family?
Shooting is due to kick off in the spring, with New York targeted as the first likely location beyond soundstage work in Atlanta. The film will be with us on April 14, 2017.
