Channing Tatum (G.I. Joe) has signed up to star in a film based around parkour, the popular sport of climbing onto any available structure and then leaping off it in the manner of a spider monkey with a death wish onto some other structure, and repeating until something snaps.

The film, which centres on a pair of parkour enthusiasts who put their skills to use for crime, will be directed Richie Smith and is written by Kevin Lund and T.J. Scott.

We thought the parkour craze had passed? District 13, Casino Royale and Breaking and Entering were all a while ago now. Are the kids still excited by this sport, or have they moved on to something new, like yo-yo battles or shooting each other?
