Thanks to the way the date is written in the US and a few other places (4/26), April 26 has been adopted as Alien Day thanks to the notorious planet LV426 from the films. And it might not surprise you that there will be a few events and items taking advantage of the day, including trivia challenges, new action figures, comic book series and, most intriguingly, Ripley's Alien Stomper Sneakers.
That last one? An exact replica of the Aliens High-Top Stompers worn by Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley, which will be on sale worldwide from Reebok on April 26 (see the picture below). Yes, if you want to fight off Xenomorphs or explore doomed colonies, you probably should be wearing armored boots, not sneakers, but that's why Sigourney Weaver is tougher than you. You'll also be able to buy mid-top variants as worn by Lance Henriksen's Bishop.
And on the same day, there will be the Alien: Ultimate Trivia Contest running via the official Twitter account @AlienAnthology (you'll need to register here to take part), where prizes will be available every 42.6 minutes. If the top prize is a face hugger, DO NOT ACCEPT. Those things are more trouble than they're worth.
