You might think there's enough horror on TV at the moment, what with American Horror Story and, if we're honest, the news. Alfonso Cuaron disagrees, and he's launching a potential new series, signing up Casey Affleck for the project.
Nothing much has been announced about the potential show yet, which is now being pitched to the usual gathering of networks, cable outlets and streaming services. Deadline was only able to learn that it tracks the origins of a cult. Cuaron is writing, directing and executive producing, while Affleck will star and produce.
Affleck hasn't worked much in TV before – his recent foray, with a miniseries about the Lewis And Clark expedition, appears to have hit a few hurdles after several episodes were shot but now sitting in limbo as changes are made to the scripts – yet you can see why he might be attracted to working with Cuaron.
The actor has a few projects in the works, and will next be seen in Old Man And The Gun from regular collaborator David Lowery.
