Pursuit Of Happyness helmer Gabriele Muccino has found a pair of thesps to star in his new film, A Little Game Without Consequence. And wouldn’t you know the luck? They’ve worked together before.

Yes, Consequence will reunite Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz, last seen on screen together in 1994’s The Mask. They’ll play a seemingly perfect couple that decide to play a little trick on their mates and pretend to have a massive break-up. But to their surprise, they discover that none of their friends liked them as a pair in the first place. What does that hold for their future together? Probably getting a new set of friends to replace those moody bastards, we’d wager.

It’s slightly ironic that Muccino’s next will be adapted from a French film which has its roots in a play, as his big Italian film L’Ultimo bacio has just been remade as The Last Kiss, which stars Zach Braff and will be out shortly. What goes around, is remade around…

Consequence kicks off in New York this October.
