Last July, we learned that San Andreas team Dwayne Johnson and director Brad Peyton were reuniting to make video game adaptation Rampage. They're adding another former Andreas man, as Carlton Cuse and his Colony co-creator Ryan Condal are aboard to work on the script.

Rampage, as you may be aware is the game that lets the player unleash the destructive urges of three giant monsters: George (a not-Kong giant gorilla), Lizzie (a certainly not Godzilla huge lizard) and Ralph (a definitely something other than The Wolfman massive werewolf), who were normal humans until they were the subject of experiments by the nefarious Scumlabs and turned into their monstrous forms. Cuse and Condal will take over from Ryan Engle on the film's scripting front.

"We have a shot to raise the bar and make something cool with this one as the basic storyline is three mutated gigantic monsters (Silverback, Alligator and Wolf) destroy major cities and landmarks across the US," says Johnson in an Instagram post announcing the new writing duo. "This summer I'll spend time at the San Diego Wildlife Preserve as well as with Anti-Poaching Units from Africa for my research. If you were a fan of the video game like I was, then you KNOW how bad ass and fun this movie can be. I'll try not to screw it up." Exactly how The Rock will fit into the plot has yet to be revealed.

Cuse and Condal have found success with their new sci-fi series, which follows characters in Los Angeles dealing with an alien occupation. It's just the latest project they've worked on together after meeting on an unsuccessful pilot show a few years ago.

As for Johnson, he's got another busy year coming up, as mapped out in another Instagram post that detailed his workload in the next few months. Once he finishes work on the second season of HBO sports management comedy drama Ballers, he moves onto the Baywatch film and then the next Fast & Furious instalment. After that, it's Rampage for a long stint of animal madness. Oh, and not forgetting he's finding time to visit voice booths to record his contribution to Disney's Moana.
