The casting for kiddie flick Race To Witch Mountain has been further filled out this morning, with Carla Gugino signing on as the female lead opposite Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and kiddie actors AnnaSophia Robb and Alexander Ludwig.
The story casts Gugino as a "discredited astophysicist and UFO expert", who meets His Rockness, a Las Vegas cab driver. He asks for her help to rescue two psychic siblings (Bridge to Terabithia's Robb and The Dark Is Rising's Ludwig) from evil men. As so often in these cases, the future of the human race hangs in the balance. Garry Marshall, best known as a director, is taking an acting role here, as a conspiracy theorist who helps the group in their quest.
The director's Andy Fickman, who previously directed El Rockerino in The Game, and it's been adapted from Alexander Key's novel by Matt Lopez. So do we care? Given The Rock's success in kiddie-friendly films over the last few years, it will probably be a massive hit - but would anyone else rather see him do action again?
