This is in no way official – and since it was posted on April 1st, we’re going to wait for a proper announcement before we truly get excited – but word has it that Carey Mulligan and The Lovely Bones’ Saoirse Ronan have signed on to star in **Violet And Daisy **for Geoffrey Fletcher.
Having just scored an Oscar for writing Precious, he’s looking to achieve a long-held ambition to sit in the director’s chair and it appears he’s got his wish, working from one of his original scripts.
Violet, says Hollywood 411, blends the girl empowerment aspects of Thelma And Louise with elements of Superbad and Pulp Fiction, which frankly makes it sound brilliant.
Ronan, of course, is in the middle of playing a young killer in Hanna for Joe Wright, who she worked with on Atonement, and Mulligan deftly handled the comedic moments of** An Education**, so this could one to look forward to, assuming the actresses’ schedules can mesh…
