Now that we've reached the end of the Witches' Road with Agatha All Along, all MCU fans' attention is now set to turn towards Julius Onah's star-spangled fourquel Captain America: Brave New World. Having had one curiosity sparking teaser for Anthony Mackie's feature debut as Captain America already, as well as a couple of intriguing tidbits of info about Giancarlo Esposito's baddie Sidewinder and an eyebrow-raising adamantium connection spilled at San Diego Comic Con back in July, the hype train for the 35th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has really been starting to build up a head of steam. Now, with the release of a brand new trailer at D23 Brazil this past weekend, anticipation for the movie has reached new heights. Check out Harrison Ford (Red) Hulking out and Mackie's Sam Wilson flying into action in the tense new trailer for the film below:

"You asked for me... here I am," says Mackie's Sam Wilson at the start of the trailer, almost certainly in a meta acknowledgment of fans' clamouring for more Cap action in the wake of The Falcon & The Winter Soldier's finale four (!) years ago. And it looks like he's arriving right on cue here, as he finds Carl Lumbly's first-generation supersoldier Isaiah Bradley (introduced in TFATWS) in prison, seemingly having attempted to assassinate US President Thaddeus Ross (Ford) in an incident he has no memory of. Cue an increasingly sticky web of intrigue being spun about Wilson as he looks set to unearth a plot of global consequence that'll see him not only tangle with Esposito's aforementioned Sidewinder and Tim Blake Nelson's The Incredible Hulk returnee The Leader, but also Ford's POTUS, who's only too quick to remind our man Sam that "You're not Steve Rogers." Though, as climactic fiery shots of a certain scarlet-shaded Hulk attest, it looks like Thaddeus Ross may have some quite literally bigger things going on as the movie progresses.

Whilst naval base battles, the promise of a Red Hulk vs Cap face-off, and a reunion for Mackie's Sam Wilson with Danny Ramirez' new Falcon Joaquin Torres are ticking all kinds of comic book movie boxes for us already though, it's the style and tone of this latest trailer that's really got us locked in. Flickering letters, split-screen shots, and a grounded approach to set pieces here don't just channel that familiar Winter Soldier and Civil War political thriller energy, but actively encourage comparisons to the likes of The Parallax View, The Candidate, and JFK. Whether or not the final movie can live up to said comparisons of course remains to be seen, but that it's those movies Brave New World is looking to place itself in conversation with is surely a promising sign. As is the new poster for the movie (dodgy 'Brave New World' font aside), which you can see below:

Who is trying to take out Thaddeus Ross? Why can't Isaiah Bradley remember how he wound up in jail? How exactly do Sidewinder and The Leader factor into the equation? Did Harrison Ford actually do all the performance capture work for Red Hulk? And if so, can we please have that BTS footage, unedited, on the physical release's special features? The answers to some of these questions will almost certainly be answered when Captain America: Brave New World swoops down and smashes its way into cinemas on 14 February, 2025.
