Sigourney Weaver will be steepling her fingers in the manner of an arch villain for her next role, which will see her custodian to a group of errant youths as a prison warden at a young offenders institute. To be directed by Collateral Damage director Andrew Davis, Holes is an adaptation of Louis Sacher's award-winning children's book about a young boy wrongfully accused of stealing some trainers. Banged up for a year and, along with other inmates, forced to dig holes by Weaver's warden - apparently it's 'character building' - the boy soon discovers he and his fellow offenders are being used in an effort to unearth a cache of buried treasure. The film will begin shooting in April.
