Back in 2018, Cameron Diaz announced she was retiring from acting, and was looking to re-embrace her sense of personal space, family and relationships. But unlike such notables as Gene Hackman and Jack Nicholson, who have so far resisted the temptation to come back, Diaz is indeed returning, for a new Netflix film called, conveniently enough, Back In Action.

The details for this one are being kept quiet, but it'll feature a reunion between Diaz and her Annie co-star Jamie Foxx, the latter announcing both the film and Diaz return via a tweet. It features a phone call between the two actors as Diaz voices her concern about not knowing what she's doing, before Foxx puts her on with NFL star Tom Brady (who seemed to announce his retirement this year, then took it back), to hear some words of wisdom.

Horrible Bosses director Seth Gordon is overseeing the new movie, and wrote the script with Bad Neighbours' Brendan O'Brien. Shooting will kick off later this year, but there's no release date on the books.
