Between the screenwriting announcement for the 50 Shades Of Grey** film and now this, you might suspect movieland had sex on the brain today. But then it is movieland, so that pretty much means a day that ends in a “Y”. Still, this project is something a little crazier, as Cam Gigandet and Nick Thune have signed on to star in Johnson.
How crazy? Try the fact that it’s the story of lothario Rich Johnson (Gigandet) whose penis gets so sick and tired of being overworked that it abandons his body and takes on human form (Thune).
So then Johnson has to find some way to win back his favourite appendage while – of course! – becoming a better man in the process.
Writer Jeff Tetreault owns the twisted noggin that burped this one into life, with The Virginity Hit’s Huck Botko set to continues his sex-themed directing career. “It’s semi-autobiographical," Tetreault tells The Hollywood Reporter. "Nick is only 6’4", though. Shaq would be more of an accurate physical representation.”
It all kicks off in Chicago this week. Gigandet was last seen in Trespass and has the likes of Code Name: Geronimo, Free Ride and Catherine Hardwicke’s Plush shuffling through post-production. Thune is best known as a comedian, though he’s also been seen in movies such as Spring Breakdown, Knocked Up and Extract.
