Cage Counts His Calories

Whilst doing the rounds of publicity for Captain Corelli's Mandolin, Nicolas Cage let slip some details about his future projects, in particular Spike Jonze's next film, Adaptation, in which Cage will be playing the brothers Kaufman. The characters are 'two overweight, sexually frustrated twin brothers,' Cage tells Time Out. 'It's pretty interesting.' What's more interesting is that Cage - normally an actor who goes hell for leather on nailing a role (he learnt to play the mandolin, for god's sake) - will not be piling on the pounds for Adaptation. Instead he'll be putting on a prosthetic fat suit to play the densely-packed duo: 'I didn't think it would be healthy to destroy myself physically,' is Cage's excuse.
