Nic Cage and Pierce Brosnan have been cast in Roman Polanski's thriller The Ghost, Brosnan has told MTV.
Brosnan will play an ex-British Prime Minister named Adam Lang, with Cage playing the ghost writer of Lang's memoirs. When said writer becomes privy to secrets about a scandal involving Lang, he has to choose between loyalty to his subject and a desire to preserve his own safety. The film is based on a novel by Robert Harris.
Sounds like classic Polanski to us. As a director who's always been best with small, paranoid stories, it'll be fascinating to see him going back to that kind of material after several years spent painting on much bigger canvases.
