Buzz Gets Surgery

The voice of Buzz Lightyear - actor Tim Allen - had a nasty scare when he suddenly succumbed to appendicitis last Friday (October 8). Allen was about to race his Mustang at a motor track in Monterey, California when he suffered from abdominal pains. Before he knew it he was rushed off to hospital for an emergency appendectomy, narrowly missing death. Allen, who brings Buzz back to life in the forthcoming Toy Story 2 (out in February), was more fed up about missing his race than his looming visit to infinity and beyond. According to CNN, he was convinced he was going to win.
