Eric to star in 8 Mile follow-up

He won't be sporting a beanie and rapping his was back to the screen (at least we really hope not) but Australian heart-throb Eric Bana has signed to star in Curtis Hanson's 8 Mile follow-up, Lucky You (which has absolutely nothing to do with the eminem-starring drama). Having scared the living daylights out of viewers in Hulk and torn up the box office like a thunderball in Troy, Bana will scale back his action antics for Hanson's film, a Vegas-set saga set in the world of high stakes poker. Hitting casinos with a view to a killing at the tables, Bana plays Huck Cheever, a man whose philosophy to live and let die has served him well at the game. The screenplay is the work of Academy Award-winning Forrest Gump scribe Eric Roth, a man who knows that while diamonds are forever, the sheen of an Oscar win will fade without some decent follow-ups. The world is not enough for Bana though, it seems, and Lucky You isn't the only project on his slate - well, you only live twice don't you? The Aussie star is also set to star in Spielberg's Vengeance, the story of the terrorist attack on the 1972 Olympic Games. Spielberg's packed schedule has pushed filming of Vengeance back somewhat however, giving Bana license to kill some time by starring in another project. Any suggestions?
