How’s everyone liking the Yogi Bear trailers (and particularly that poster!) so far? Warner Bros. is hoping your answer is “loving them!” because the studio is looking to give the same treatment (hopefully minus the accusations of less than family friendly ideas) to one of its biggest animated stars, Bugs Bunny.

Yes, the legendary Bugs, star of countless ‘toons, is now the focus of an attempt to bring his career back up to speed. Warners has hired Elf’s David Berenbaum to take on the looney lapin with a plan to give him the feature film treatment once more.

This won’t be Bugs’ first crack at entertaining the world through the medium of live-action performers looking at nothing while an animator fills in the quip-spinning character. You might recall his previous efforts with 1997’s** Space Jam** and, more recently, the Brendan Fraser effort** Looney Tunes: Back In Actio****n**, which despite boasting Joe Dante as a director, failed to capture the public's imagination at the box office.

Nothing else is known about the new effort, since Berenbaum has only just signed on the dotted line to start work. But we would offer one piece of advice to the producers, whenever they jump aboard: hire Futurama/Ren and Stimpy’s Billy West to do the voice. The man is a legend, and he’s clearly a good luck charm: he brought Bugs to life in Jam, but didn’t get the gig in Action (though he did do Elmer Fudd and Peter Lorre) and look what happened, success-wise.
