Just how do you follow Borat? If your name is Sacha Baron Cohen, you dig into your chest of comedy characters and drag out fluff-brained gay fashion correspondent Bruno, the “voice of Austrian youth TV”.
With Sacha Baron Cohen has announcing plans to make a Bruno movie next summer, the Hollywood studios have been jumping onto the Baron bandwagon, throwing open their wallets in the hopes of snagging distribution rights. Despite 20th Century Fox having the rights to Borat, Universal are apparently leading the charge for the follow-up, finding $42 down the back of the sofa for their bid.
There’s no word on a director for Bruno yet, though Jay Roach will again act as producer.
