Bruckheimer Provides New Cap’n Jack Pic

Before you take a look at the pic below, the latest image tweeted by Jerry Bruckheimer from the set of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, we’d ask that you manage your expectations. This isn’t some amazing new look at Captain Jack. In fact, it could likely have come from any point in the franchise. Still, it’s from the big JB (or at least whichever minion he has updating his Twitter account), so he’s excited, even if not many other people will be.

Still, it’s a moody shot and sets us up for what hopefully will be more exciting pics down the line. And look... stranger... tides?

**On Stranger Tides **follows Jack (Johnny Depp) as he crosses paths (and swords) with a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz). The two have a romantic history, but she has a hidden agenda– she’s using him to find the Fountain of Youth. Forcing him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, captained by the powerful pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), the scene is set for an unexpected adventure that will see our hero dealing with old friends, old enemies, mermaids and destiny. Or something.

With Rob Marshall busy shooting the film, it's primed for a summer 2011 release.
