Jerry Bruckheimer's quest to go where no man - or woman - has gone before and make a decent game-to-movie adaptation is gathering pace. The production mogul has acquired the rights to 2K Games' Shattered States for Disney and hired J. Michael Straczynski to turn the pixelated carnage into a script.

A turn-based tactics game set in a not-so-United States split by civil war, Shattered States sets one ceceded state against another amid widespread anarchy and a nuked Washington D.C.. In other words, perfect terrain for Bruckheimer
