You remember when we said Bruce Willis only seems interested in action films right now? It was a couple of weeks ago, and he’s proving it again, spilling ink on a deal to star in futuristic thriller Vice for Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films.
Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore, who wrote one of the other films Willis has just finished, **The Prince, are on script duty for this one. Vice is set in a world where humans can live out their wildest, most perverse fantasies on androids. One of the droids becomes self-aware and breaks out with the intent of shutting the whole operation down.
Ambyr Childers (2 Guns) is playing the rogue mechanoid, while Willis will be Julian, the owner of a resort that caters to the depraved. It all sounds very Philip K. Dick meets Isaac Asimov, but probably won’t aspire to the high-minded ideas of either. We’re thinking more sexbots gone wild with a side order of Surrogates, and we’re sort of surprised Bruce wanted to dabble with a robotic future tale again after the disappointment of that one.
There’s no mention of a director in Deadline’s report on the film, but the producers want it in front of cameras in Alabama starting March 15.
