The news that Pitch Perfect **producer/co-star Elizabeth Banks would be directing the sequel has naturally led to speculation as to which of the cast will likewise be returning for more a capella action this time around. With Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson already signed up, the latest alumni to agree to a reunion is Brittany Snow.
She’s returning as Chloe, the alpha a capella singer who drafted Kendrick’s Beca for the group after hearing her sing in the shower (and invading her privacy to persuade her to add her lung power). The result is a new infusion of energy into the group and a chance for the girls to finds more success. Chloe herself, however, developed nodes on her vocal chords and had to step back from solo roles - oh, the humanity!
The plot for the second film – which original writer Kay Cannon is hard at work on – has yet to be revealed, though given the popularity of the first movie’s soundtrack (and its basic concept), expect plenty more tunes to be turned into harmonic hits.
Snow, last seen in rom-com Syrup, has indie movies The Potters and There’s Always Woodstock awaiting release, and is also one of the leads for An American Education, which will see her appearing alongside Jack Whitehall in the US TV remake of Bad Education.
