With a 2015 release date already in place, Judd Apatow is gathering the pieces he needs to direct Amy Schumer’s script Trainwreck. He’s in the midst of recruiting someone who has experience working with some of his friends before, as Brie Larson is in talks to join up.

Larson, who got a boost from 21 Jump Street, has followed that up with the likes of The Spectacular Now, **Don Jon **and, most impressively, the superb indie drama Short Term 12, which if you ask us got shortchanged at the Oscars. She’s demonstrated a keen ability to handle both comedy and drama, and where necessary both at the same time.

What she might be doing in Trainwreck is a matter of some mystery right now, as the plot is being kept secret. What has emerged so far is that Schumer will star as a woman who has essentially ruined her life and must put it back together. So banish those thoughts of a Judd Apatow action epic: this is, after all, a man who hated shooting the bike scenes in This Is 40.

As for Larson, she has worked on Basmati Blues and is currently shooting** The Gambler** remake. She’s also attached to Little Miss Sunshine pair Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton’s adaptation of Matthew “Silver Linings Playbook” Quick’s novel The Good Luck Of Right Now.
