Marvel’s next TV series, Agent Carter, has been filming for a while now. The series is due in January and the company recently put out a sneak peak (see the bottom of the page). As a result, you might think casting on the show would be complete. Not so! Bridget Regan has scored a supporting role, playing Dottie on the limited series.
With Hayley Atwell returning as Peggy herself, Marvel’s Agent Carter will track the character as she deals with post-war America in 1946. Peacetime has not been the best time for Carter, marginalized by her colleagues and balancing administrative work with much more important, stealthy duties at the Strategic Scientific Reserve, helping to build what will eventually become S.H.I.E.L.D.
She’ll need all her usual abilities when Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) is framed for selling some of his inventions to the enemy and Peggy must track them down. Regan’s Dottie is described as “a small-town girl from Iowa who’ll have a huge impact on the life of Agent Carter,” though no more details were offered. She joins a cast that also includes Chad Michael Murray, Lyndsy Fonseca, James D’Arcy and Enver Gjokaj.
Regan also appears in the Keanu Reeves-starring John Wick (already out in the US, due here on January 2) and has recently had recurring TV roles in the likes of White Collar, Jane The Virgin and Legend Of The Seeker.
Agent Carter is scheduled to air in the US from January 6, filling the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. timeslot to allow that show to mostly avoid repeats.
