He's had success with horror before, co-starring with Karen Gillan in 2014's excellent Oculus. Now Brenton Thwaites is returning to the genre. He's signed up for Office Uprising: a zombie action project from Stephen C. Miller.
In a comedic set-up, Office Uprising's main character - presumably Thwaites' - is a slacker who accidentally poisons most of the employees at the arms manufacturing company where he works. The corporate drones are supposed to be being slipped a mickey that'll make them work harder. Instead our hero gives them the one that turns them into the brain-eating undead. Hate when that happens. He's then forced to drag himself into some sort of action in order to save his friends and sort out the disaster within the company compound.
"We are truly excited to have cast Brenton," says production company The Exchange's Brian O'Shea. "[He's] a sensational, versatile young leading man who will hit the comedic notes and sell the action."
Miller previously directed the Christmas horror remake Silent Night, and the thrillers Submerged and Extraction. He's currently in post-production on the action movie Marauders.
Thwaites has recently been hard at work in Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, and we'll next see him in Alex Proyas' Gods Of Egypt, which is out in the UK on February 26.
