In January, when John Whitesell was announced as the director of Big Momma’s House 3, we hoped against hope that it might somehow get derailed, and that Martin Lawrence would suddenly develop an aversion to latex rubber. But now, with word that Tropic Thunder’s Brandon T Jackson has been cast in the film, it feels one step closer to dooming us all.
Last seen in Percy Jackson And The Olympians, Jackson is joining the film for a plot that sounds like the bastard offspring of Fame and the last Big Momma’s outing: Lawrence's nephew Trent witnesses murder and must go undercover with his uncle (both of them in rubbery drag this time) at an all-girls performing arts school.
Can they track down the killer before he finds them? Will you even have a firm grip on your sanity by the time the film ends?
Whitesell will start filming in April in Atlanta, from a script that has been through the hands of Randi Mayem Singer, who helped out on Tooth Fairy. That’s it: we’re done for.
