A second trailer for Get Smart, the new comedy based on the ‘60s TV show and starring Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway, has gone online here. Take a look, won’t you?
While there’s not a lot in this trailer that had us especially tickled – high points for us were the man getting hit by the bus and The Rock getting told off for stapler misuse – we still have good feelings about this. Firstly, because the cast is so bloody good and we don’t believe you can put that many great people together in front of the camera and not have a good time. Secondly, the chemistry between Hathaway and Carell at the Oscars convinced us that these two could be dynamite together.
We don’t remember the TV show, about an inept spy and his far more capable female partner, particularly well, so we can’t say how close this matches its tone. But we’re going to just carry on looking forward to this one, quietly, over here.
