Brad Pitt Off To Lost City Of Z

You have to be very careful reporting any news on April 1st, since it could turn out to be a hilarious April Fool's gag and leave you looking quite the silly billy. We think we're safe with the following, since it would be an extraordinarily unimaginative gag were it not true.

Paramount has bought the rights to Lost City of Z, a still to be published manuscript by David Grann, with Brad Pitt set to produce and likely star. Pitt would play Col. Percy Harrison Fawcett, a real-life British explorer who disappeared, along with his party, in 1925 while searching for the mysterious Lost City of Z. Many people have attempted to retrace his steps since, but all have failed.

We've never actually heard of Fawcett, but this sounds like a very interesting basis for a movie. It's got a touch of Aguirre, Wrath of God to it, but with a much more handsome and singularly less bonkers lead.

By the way, April Fool's Day is also why there's almost nothing happening today. Everybody's afraid to report anything big, lest it be taken for a joke. We can make some stuff up if you like.
