Disney’s mysterious new project 1952 has been guarded with the sort of secrecy usually reserved for nuclear bunkers, especially since director Brad Bird has been through the Pixar School of Keeping Things Quiet. But now, via Entertainment weekly, comes word that the film has a new title: Tomorrowland.
What isn’t yet known is anything about the plot, but given where this comes from; the fact it’s being developed by Bird, Damon Lindelof and EW’s own Jeff Jensen (who is sworn to secrecy) from a box of documents left in Walt Disney’s own archive – you can see that above – and the new title, one might reasonably see plenty of scope for theme park-related theories. Tomorrowland is, after all, the name for a section of Disney's theme parks, containing rides like Space Mountain and Star Tours (the latter's unlikely to be a touchstone for the film since, y'know, it's based on Star Wars). But of course, that link could all be a bluff to throw us off the scent, and it could still be about something a little more alien. Or, you know, not.
One confirmed detail besides the new moniker at least: George Clooney, who had been circling, is now definitely starring.
