With hopes of having the cameras rolling this summer, James Mangold continues to build the cast around Harrison Ford for the next Indiana Jones outing. He's dipping into his past career for one new choice, and recruiting from the TV ranks for another, as Boyd Holbrook and Shaunette Renée Wilson are aboard.
Mangold has taken over the Indy gig from Steven Spielberg (who has chosen to step back and produce this one), working on the script with Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth. The exact plot details remain a mystery, but we do at least know that veteran composer John Williams will be on score duties.
Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Thomas Kretschmann are all already in the cast for the film, which has a release pencilled in for July 2022. Holbrook's hiring represents a reunion for the actor and Logan director Mangold, while Wilson is a veteran of TV dramas including Billions and The Resident, and appeared as one of the Dora Milaje in Black Panther.
